Motores Campeón is a Catalan company founded in 1946 specialised in the manufacture of engines and motor pumps for the agricultural, forestry and, above all, gardening sectors. They are also distributors of other brands of machinery such as lawnmowers, brush cutters, motor hoes, wood splitters and motor augers. They have extensive experience in the sector, their own manufactured products with high added value and a good after-sales spare parts service.
The company has developed its presence in international markets over the years and has managed to establish itself as a recognised brand in several countries. Its priority markets have been, among others, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Italy and especially France.
Project objectives
In the past, Motores Campeón managed to open up the French market and consolidate it thanks to an extensive distribution network that provided the company with a significant turnover. Over the years, the commercial network gradually lost ground in the French market, one of the most important in the gardening sector, without the company being able to react in time, to the point where it found itself when it contacted Barcelona Export.
We have set a clear objective to revitalize and boost its exports to France by establishing a robust network of multi-portfolio commercial agents specializing in gardening products. This initiative aims to tap into the growing demand for gardening supplies and services across the French market. By leveraging the expertise of these agents, who will represent a diverse range of products, it can ensure a comprehensive approach to meet the varied needs of customers throughout the country.
Our strategy involves selecting agents who possess not only a deep understanding of the gardening industry but also strong connections within their local markets. This will enable it to effectively penetrate different regions of France, from urban centers to rural areas, ensuring that its products are accessible to a wide audience. The agents will be trained to highlight the unique features and benefits of our offerings, allowing them to effectively communicate its brand’s value proposition to potential customers.

Challenges and results
The Barcelona Export team carried out market research to identify those multi-portfolio sales agents in the gardening sector in France who could provide the greatest value to the company and, in turn, cover the entire national territory.
We selected 7 candidates with experience and reach to distribution channels, such as specialised purchasing centres or large gardening and DIY companies. After a detailed analysis of the candidates and negotiations of the commercial terms, Motores Campeón signed a representation contract with 4 of the candidates proposed by Barcelona Export.
