Barcelona Export visited the presentation of the Enxarxa Maresme programme

Enxarxa Maresme is a programme aiming to bring the region’s public resources closer to private companies and/or entrepreneurs. El Maresme has 30 municipalities (town halls) at the service of companies and entrepreneurs in the region. All of them are coordinated by the Consell Comarcal del Maresme, which also has the support of different institutions involved such as: PIMEC, FAGEM, Cambra de Comerç, the syndicates Comisiones Obreras and UGT and the Diputació de Barcelona.

On April 26th the official presentation of ENXARXA MARESME took place at Can Jonc, in Alella. All in all it was a fantastic opportunity to do a networking session and meet all the main actors of the region.

The objectives of ENXARXA MARESME are to address a triple action of company/administration cooperation:

– Firstly, the Maresme Regional Council supports local councils and provides them with the tools to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment.

– Furthermore, identification of the real needs of companies to try to respond to their demands.

– Finally, configure an Employment Plan to cover personnel needs, connecting Local Employment Services to companies.

The internationalisation of companies and the export of their products has been presented as a key strategic plan for all companies in the region. It will be one of the points to be promoted within the region through the different public bodies involved. In brief, the best way to make our business network grow, is diversifying the risk and, in the process, getting to know the wealth and products of the region.

Barcelona Export participates in the female networking brunch of Teixidores d’Idees organized by the Fagem

Barcelona Export participates at the meeting of Teixidores d’Idees, a meeting aimed to entrepreneurs or directors women of the Maresme region, organized by the Fagem at the hotel Atenea de Mataró on Thursday 11/23/2017.

What did we discover during this day?

During the session, we attended the presentation of Toton Comella, the highest representative of intimate women’s fashion in Spain. A woman that knows how to revolutionize the world of swimwear and feminine intimate clothing by incorporating combinations of textiles that until now no one had dared to work with: lycra-cotton. She changed the intimate fashion patterns, creating a powerful international brand of recognized prestige as it has been with TCN. These fabrics are today fully integrated into our everyday uses.

After having sold the company and having been director and owner of her company during her whole professional career, she offers us a series of discussions about the woman role in the business life and the price they have to pay to hold responsibilities as well in the professional life as in the private life and about how hard it is to combine both to find the right balance.

This type of meeting promotes women’s networking, besides putting in common the issues that professional women face in today’s society:

– Work-life balance
– Sexual harassment
– Discrimination for gender reasons
– Lack of equal pay for the same tasks
– Same education, etc.

Our consultancy is present in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2017  to give assistance and accompany one of our clients, custom software developer and with its own QA department (Quality Assurance).

Smart City Congress takes place once a year in Barcelona, from the 14th to 16th of November 2017, in its fairground in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. A large representation of companies, start-ups and public administrations attend the event in order to jointly develop tools, applications, new services in multiple areas that help improve the quality of life of the citizens of, the increasingly populated, cities of the world.

Smart City World Congress 2017, Barcelona

We also had the opportunity to participate in the Brokerage Event where more than 1264 meetings were arranged and 400 companies from 38 different countries participated. It has been a pleasure to meet companies of very varied products and technologies that needed our services to expand their business internationally.

Among the most novel exposed products that we have had occasion to discover are geolocation applications that include a multiple of measurable parameters, such as pollution, the presence of gases, humidity, etc. Open data applications to provide cities with a multitude of applications that contain valuable information for citizens: bus schedules, hospitals, concerts, garbage collection calendar, taxes, etc gathered under a single application. Drones that help to measure the architectural parameters of a building under construction, energy efficiency applications, test circuits for cars of the future, independent and self-driving, windows that contain photovoltaic panels to store solar energy and give autonomy to the homes.
